Parenting style can affect everything from your child’s self-
esteem and physical health to how they relate to others. It

is important to ensure your parenting style is supporting
healthy growth and development because the way you
interact with your child and how you discipline them will
influence them for the rest of their life. Diana Baumrind,

a developmental psychologist and Dr. Barbara Thomas-
Reddick, an Ordained Pastor, Certified Addiction Professional,

and a Parent/Grandmother have identified several types of
parenting styles.
This parenting workbook will hopefully allow you to dig
deep from your childhood to present and identify ways that
you could hopefully redirect ways and behavior to connect
the dots in your life.
Connecting dots, could simply mean, asking the question
“Who am I”? Who am I can allow one to look at one’s life
in the past, present, and future. Dr. Reddick’s methodology
is, “When we know where we have been and realize what
has happened, we can then identify where we are now, and
move forward to understand where I would like become or
be”. To become is to have a better understanding of who I
would like to be, what I would like to be, and when and how
I want to arrive there.
